A Collection of IS Theories

Recently got to know about this Wiki related to IS Theories. As researcher, I am experiencing the difficulty of finding the right mix of theories in our research areas. If you an IS researcher, I am sure this Wiki will give you a concise view of most of the IS theories around. This may not give you everything, but I am sure it will give you a kick start to move forward. Kudos to whom have initiated this collaborative act.

Korean e-Government – The GEA (Government-wide Enterprise Architecture)

As we all know Korea has been maintaining the UN e-Government #1 ranking for some time now. This has been because of various reasons. Top Government Support, Intellectual capacity of the highest government officials at the top, a proper governance mechanisms, public-private partnerships, better utilization of the independent e-government implementer like NIA Korea, a well thought e-government strategy are some of the key reasons for their success.

On top of that, they were able to implement the strategy not sticking only the strategy to the paper. The positive mindset of the Koreans is a plus in this aspect, which is a rarity  in this part of the world.

The following youtube video gives a heads up what they have achieved so far in this context in Korea. Hats off to them for implementing a complete EA, which most of the third world and even certain developed countries puts down as a “not achievable” thing. They have done the impossible…

In this presentation, I basically concentrated on the FOSS solutions within organizations and at the integration level as well.

The presentation included,

FOSS based ERP, ECM, CRM, BI, Rules Engines, Work Flow Engines, Rapid Application Development Frameworks, Service Oriented Architecture solution frameworks and the popular frameworks leveraged in the layered architecture.

The presentation can be found at the link given below. (Slideshare).

My first research paper on eGovernment

My first research paper on eGovernment can be reached using the following link.

I should thank Dr. Shahani Weerawarana (my supervisor and the co-author) for all the encouragement that she had given to me to make this research a success. This paper was based on my MBA thesis which I submitted in 2007.

Click here to see the research paper, which is published under 4th ICEG Conference Book. (ISBN:978-1-9066938-20-7)

If you want to refer it in any of your research work, you may do so as follows,
